On his way home from the Yankton, South Dakota National Invitational Fiddle contest, John stopped in Independence, Missouri to record "Monroe County Influences: Vol. 1 ". To compliment his fiddling, Matt Wyatt (owner and proprietor of Wyatt Fiddle Shop) accompanies him on guitar, tenor, and upright bass. Also accompanying him is Jeff Elsloo on banjo.
